10 Reasons Why Mitt Romney Would Make A Good President
79Mitt Romney holds his own with Rick Santorum
REASON #10
His charismatic ways when appearing in public. Notice that big, wide smile of his? This is one thing our nation's leader needs is a confident smile. A confident smile says, "I know what I'm doing," to the doubters who think Romney would not make a good leader. And his smile also says to the negative world around us, "Let's be peaceful, but do not be fooled in thinking that niceness is a sign of weakness." I like that in a president.
REASON #9
Mitt Romney is an all-American guy. See the American flag in the background? This, him not being ashamed to pose with our flag, is another strong reason that foreign countries would respect him as President of the United States. Romney "looks" the part of a president. Smooth. Polished. Easy to approach from the elite to the lowest. Mitt can 'talk the talk,' and with the right supporters, he can 'walk the walk.' I like his hairstyle too.
REASON #8
Romney can be serious if need be. Behind that Crest toothpaste smile, is the face of a serious candidate who wants to run our country. Romney can also count. His expertise in numbers will go a long way when he is faced with balancing our budget and other monumental tasks that accompany the Office of The President. Good with mathematics is a plus for Mitt. Now if he didn't know diddlie about numbers, he might embarrass himself in a State of The Union Message. But that is a useless worry. Mitt is a numbers man.
REASON #7
Mitt Romney knows how to dress for success. He is never seen in public or private unless he is dressed 'to the nines' with tailored-suits. Nice shirts. Colorful ties. I think that the adage, "image is everything," should apply to our president. Now let's be serious. Would you, or any of our foreign country allies trust a president that dressed in cargo pants, sweat shirt with tour dates of Cold Play on the back, and sandals? I think not. I concede that wearing a suit and tie all day can be rather discomforting, but that's a solid rule of society. Dressing to impress. And inspiring a hit song by ZZ Top, "Sharp Dressed Man," from the 80's. Wonder if ZZ Top would play for his inaugural party?
REASON #6
Mitt Romney can talk. With the best orators in the land. Whether it is on Face The Nation or Meet The Press. Or on some corner in Chicago, Romney can talk fluently about economic. Military. Social. And educational facts. And I have noticed that he seldom uses, "uhh," or "now let me see," to stall for time as he thinks up an answer to a question. Being able to talk professionally is a plus for an American president. I give Mitt points for his talking abilities. And Mitt can read too.
REASON #5
His sharp sense of humor. When asked by Newt Gingrich about his tax returns, Mitt smiled and said, "I will release them Tuesday," and moved on stunning Newt with his comedic comeback. Any president of our country needs a good sense of humor. And be able to laugh at himself. Former president, John F. Kennedy scored huge ratings with his comment on the launching of a NASA rocket, "there goes the payroll," when he was to say, "payload." This fau pax got lots of laughs from the crowd. Mitt will not be a stranger to laughter.
REASON #4
Mitt's big hands. Although and strictly in my opinion, Romney would make a great juggler for any circus, his big hands are a sign that he is a worker. Confident. Can tackle political or social problems in our country. I like that in a president. I've always said, "never trust a president or any politician who doesn't show his hands in public." But remember. Showing hands and talking with hands is a world apart. Mitt doesn't talk with his hands. And I like that.
REASON #3
when Mitt Romney is right. He is right. In several question and answer sessions across our country, some political reporters have asked him some tough questions, only to their chagrin, Mitt answered them like a pro. Like he was already in the Oval Office. George W. Bush was like that. Able to answer the tough questions that are on the minds of Americans. In this photo, Mitt is driving home a point on how he would balance our budget. The crowd was amazed.
REASON #2
Mitt Romney looks people (and problems) straight in the eye. Never backs down. Notice him next time he is being questioned that he seldom looks down, or off in the distance, two signals that he is not sure of himself. Mitt knows the score. He's on top of his game. You can trust a man (or woman) who makes fast eye-contact and talks to you like you are a human. That's Mitt.
REASON #1
Mitt Romney is always smiling. Happy. Upbeat. I appreciate that in a president. Don't you? I had much rather have a smiling. Laughing. Even joking president than a 'doom-and-gloom' leader who seldom smiles or laughs. Notice the other Republican presidential candidates--see how less they laugh or joke? The Office of President is a serious job, but not all of the time. I think that our atmosphere in our country is set by whatever attitude our Commander In Chief shows. If he's happy, then we can be happy. See what Im getting at?
SPECIAL NOTICE:
ladies and gentlemen of the free world, this is NOT. I repeat NOT, a political endorsement for presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.
The truth is, I was sitting around my house on Monday, January 23, and began to think of why Mitt Romney, of all the Republican presidential candidates, would make a good leader for the United States.
These are my opinions. My views. I share these of my own accord. I have not taken or received any material gifts. Monies. Or favors from Romney, or any of his opponents for writing this hub.
See if your views match mine. Enjoy.

I know you too well, Kenneth, to take this hub seriously. But as usual, it is a piece of good writing. Romney first and foremost has to ditch the nervous laugh whenever he's asked a question he doesn't like. It's his TELL.
Hello, very interesting hub! Potential presidents are sometimes "like a box of chocolates, we never know what we're gonna get." I've wondered what will bring healthcare costs DOWN, as opposed to cutting off the lifeline of care to so many people. What's this world coming to? We're a country that's used public resources and spent countless lives to fight foreign wars. We glorify domestic corporate kings and queens, worship the wealthy and build domestic political dynasties. Now we're potentially opting to terminate sick people to cut costs? Somehow it never makes sense, no matter how 'ya cut it. At what point does money take second spot to ethics, morals or just basic "right vs. wrong" in the USA? I was raised as a "LIBERAL" Christian, if anyone could ever imagine it..... we do exist!
Hi Kenneth, had to respond at least to this. I didn't understand why I never fit the "Conservative" mold until a Methodist minister explained it: "The church you grew up in was a 'liberal' Christian Church."
(Who had ever heard of 'sech a thang as that?)
So add one more to the list of "liberal Christians."
Oh and he's a wild one.... quite a crusader, and very outspoken....
Yes, Virginia, there really are liberal Christians. Glad to meet another one - and from an evangelical denomination too!
Hi Kenneth,
Did you hear the speech where Mitt admitted he made "a little extra money" on speaking engagements and then the amount was over $400,000.00? Who considers that "a little bit of money?" I'd have my dream vacation home in Jamaica with that mon. I admit he does look the part though, and always has a smile. Presidents do age badly though. I don't know why anyone would want the job. Obama is holding up pretty well, I think he puts gray highlights in his hair when he wants to look more distinguished, though it could be real.
Sounds good to me! Vote for you! Up!!!
Hi Kenneth,
Maybe, people would relate more to a president in cargo pants. lol
Have your heard the expression, "snake in suits that is what I think of most politicians.
Great hub!
Voted up up and away!
Take Care :-)
Hi Kenneth - It has been way too long since I read one of your great Hubs. Well-written. I also like the exchange between you and Kathleen Cochran. What fun. :) I hope that all things are well with you.
Kenneth, not sure if this is saturiucal or not, but it was entertaining, certainly. I used to be a political junky, but now, i barely follow. i always vote, but usually third party. I find the major parties to be fraught with inconsistencies, special interests and arrogance. I'd rather vote for the candidate who doesn't care about winning or losing, but about believing in what his conscience dictates.
i kinda think the president doesn't matter as much as the legislature.
k these are not legit reasons that make a leader a great one.. I think the US has not had a good president since roosevelt to be honest.. dress well? has a great smile? big hands? can count? WOW!! how about a president that leads you to economic success, has the interest of the people at heart, honest, a great communicator, and peaceful?
What about his plans to cut spending or what he's going to do about the pointless wars we're in or about the economy? You think he's a good president because he posses with the American flag, smiles a lot and has a nice hair cut?

Gun Sales Rise, As Gun Owners Now Fear MITT ROMNEY
Hi Kenneth, Your title is very catchy. I like your reasons! Very funny! I tried to think of my good reason, I came up with none. Zilch. Nada. I did try though!:)
Well ok he ok all that but can he really change the country??? Maybe not or maybe who knows but I'm still not on his side even tho I'm a republican
Yeah you are right @kenneth but we need someone strong and the country need to change
This is the worst article ever. These are traits of a good president you'd find in People Magazine...not in TIME Magazine.
Kenneth, very grateful this was satire. You set it up pretty well, however, to render invites. Good job on that.
What scares me is that people will take this article seriously and vote for him on that basis.
I'm not much of a political student, so i can't say much on the issue but this to me seems completely based on his personality rather than his ability to actually fix anything. Again this is just personal opinion but I don't think i'd vote for him because he has big hands and has a good smile.
P.S. If i'm wrong or offensive i'm sorry
You guys are funny...This is total fluff!
umm... I have a question? is there anything else that you like besides his looks or the way he acts? Any points of view or values that you find appealing? I'm a democrat in a house of republicans and i want to know why he is morally more appealing than Obama. Not Obama's faliures but Romney's beliefs.

Sure he is happy now but if he becomes president watch most of these traits fade. This is true of most presidents. BTW..I'm not for any candidate.
